Rescue Vet raises over £13,000!
Our Founder, TV vet and presenter Dr Scott Miller, has spearheaded a successful fundraiser raising over £13,000 for WECare, a veterinary charity based in Sri Lanka. The funds will go directly towards purchasing a specially equipped Tuk Tuk ambulance, a vital mobile unit that will help save the lives of injured and sick street dogs across the region.
The fundraising campaign was launched following Dr Scott's recent volunteer trip to Sri Lanka, where he worked alongside the WECare team and witnessed firsthand the urgent need for another Tuk Tuk ambulance. Deeply moved by the experience, he decided to take action—calling on the Rescue Vet YouTube community to help make a difference. And they did!
“This Tuk Tuk ambulance is going to change lives—both for the dogs and for the people who care for them,” said Dr Scott. “The support has been overwhelming. I’m incredibly proud of what our community has achieved together.”
To mark the journey and highlight the challenges faced by animals in Sri Lanka, Rescue Vet has released a special two-part documentary on YouTube, giving viewers an inside look at Dr Scott’s experience with WECare and the incredible work being done on the ground.
