After studying at the London School of Mime and the Circus Space, Bernie began performing street theatre shows at Covent Garden, London. His shows already included wirewalking and he specialised in this skill after a season as a juggler with Glyndebourne Opera, where he worked with the master wirewalker Brian Andro, of Cirque Du Soleil. Since then he has appeared at festivals all over the world, with his unique combination of outrageous comedy characters, hilarious audience participation and nailbiting tricks on the highwire. TV appearances include You Bet (ITV) where he walked blindfold up a steeply inclined wire to 25ft, then backwards down the incline on the other side, all within three minutes.
SHOWS:
Choice of three great comedy shows, all based around a free standing tightrope rig, 9-10ft high. Can set up own performing area, approx. 25ftx20ft, with own battery powered sound system. Arena shows: For arenas, rig is mounted on a moveable trailer, which can be set or struck in minutes. Ideal arena size: around 20m x 15m.
NEW! EMBARRASSING DAD. The scene is set for a Vampire Circus show, but the artist has gone into hiding because his embarrassing dad has turned up to watch. The show will go on however, because true to form, his Dad tries to step in and save the day, attempting everything from escapology to tightrope walking, with dangerous and laughable results. Featuring vampires and bats, this will certainly be a show like no other!
SUPERHERO TIGHTROPE SHOW. Bernie transforms miraculously, in front of the audience into a comedy superhero from another planet, intent on attempting the first crossing of wherever he is, by tightrope! Outrageous comedy, audience participation and nail biting tricks.
HOBO ON A TIGHTROPE. Bernie appears as a loveable vagabond, trying to walk a tightrope despite the parrot perched on it. Lots of audience participation, including getting a member of the audience to walk a rope!
